According to initial reports, McLeod died following a road traffic accident while returning home from a match with his team, Macclesfield, who compete in England’s fifth division, after facing Bedford Town.
The incident occurred near Northampton, where his vehicle collided with a roadside safety barrier as he was making his way home.
