Is Mohamed Salah Saying Goodbye to Liverpool? The Theory Linking Him to MLS
Between benchings, criticism, public defenses, and transfer rumors, Salah is going through a decisive moment.
Mohamed Salah’s quality is undeniable. He’s Egypt’s biggest star and one of Liverpool’s key figures. However, Arne Slot’s Reds are not at their best, and the Pharaoh is not immune to the crisis.
The weekend win over West Ham was only their fourth in 13 matches, raising doubts about Slot’s project, which had started with promising signs.
Salah to MLS? The Reasons Behind the Possible Move
American journalist Tom Bogert explains that one of Salah’s potential destinations may not be Saudi Arabia, but rather MLS, where there is a unique connection.
Bogert reports that the most appealing option in the United States is San Diego FC, a club owned by Mohamed Mansour, a British-Egyptian businessman who would view the Pharaoh as his marquee signing.
Why Was Salah Benched for Liverpool’s Match Against West Ham?
Liverpool manager Arne Slot was questioned about his decision to leave Salah on the bench. He downplayed the situation but did not reveal the true reason behind the move.
“It was a normal reaction from a player who is good enough to play here — and I’m putting it lightly, because he has been outstanding for this club and will continue to be. He wasn’t happy about not starting, but he wasn’t the only one,” Slot explained.
“He behaved exactly as you’d expect from a professional of his level: he supported his teammates and kept an exemplary attitude. He’s a player who must perform every three days and knows how to take care of himself. Whether he plays or not, he will always be a top professional,” the manager added.
