According to information released by the Champions League–winning club, Safonov — usually the backup to veteran Lucas Chevalier — suffered an injury to his left hand during the final.
It is believed the injury occurred during the penalty shootout, although the goalkeeper did not immediately notice it due to the adrenaline of the moment.
PSG added in a statement that Safonov will undergo medical evaluations after three to four weeks.

Luis Enrique’s side is scheduled to play this Saturday in the Coupe de France against Vendée Fontenay, a fifth-division team.
